The comic strip turned animated series “The Boondocks” will have a third season following an almost two-year hiatus. The comic’s creator Aaron McGruder began releasing twitpics (pictures on Twitter) that show screenshots from the coming season. On Christmas, McGruder tweeted: “Finally got an airdate for season 3. Not sure if I’m allowed to put it out yet, so I’ll just say you got about 3 months! Merry Xmas!!” The show has been broadcast on the Adult Swim programming block of Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoon Network. - Variety
